A rich heritage in the heart of Somerset

History of Thee Parsonage

Thee Parsonage’s history begins in 1943 when a Fred Baugh Built a church Parsonage for the First United Methodist church in downtown Somerset Kentucky….

Thee Parsonage has a rich history in downtown Somerset as being the only home located in the downtown area.

From 1943 till around 2017-2018 Thee Parsonage served the church as home to many music and youth pastors. Many families had the privilege of calling colonial style house their home. The home’s architecture, with curved designs throughout the two stories, was notable for the builder’s style.

Thee Parsonage was sold to Joe and Kristen Lyons in 2021. Wanting to accent the home’s glorious history and beautiful structure, minor renovations were completed to be able to provide rental suites and a small venue to showcase the homestead.
